"Uniting To Build Life Around Jesus!"

Our Beginnings

The Brunswick Church of Christ began when 4 married couples from Harding University moved to North Brunswick, NJ after graduation to plant the church. They reasoned among themselves while at college, "We are all doing to serve our Lord together somewhere after graduation; why not serve Him together!"

After 3 years of praying and planning, the couples uprooted their families in the summer of 2004 to begin living and working in Central, NJ. Some moved with jobs lined up, some did not. Graciously and by the Lord's favor they all found jobs and quickly made NJ their home.

The team met in their homes for 6 months before taking the church public. In March 2005 the group rented a space on Milltown Rd in North Brunswick and began holding public worship services there. After 2 years at the Milltown Rd space they began renting a school gymnasium for public worship and currently meet at 1150 Newton St, North Brunswick.

The congregation has had her peaks and valleys over the years as any family of believers does. However, it is those peaks and valleys which the Lord has used to mold her into the church she is today! BCC has come to be defined by 5 stong core values which the original church-planting team largely personified.

This is a wonderful church family with a strong focus on Jesus, genuine Christian community and service!

Our Vision

At Brunswick Church of Christ we love Jesus and want to see a whole community united around Him!

In 2010 we spent many months prayerfully assessing what the most urgent need of our community was and what it was our Lord might be calling us to do about it. We asked ourselves, "Are the urgent needs of our community derived from the economy, joblessness, homelessness? Do they come from our school system, our taxes, or internet pornography?" To all of these questions we answered "No".

Instead, we believe the most urgent needs of our community derive from our many disintegrated, broken families. We believe that when families build their lives around something other than Jesus a wealth of problems arise in nearly every facet of life. Our children rebel. Our young people turn to drugs. The next generation of parents face depression and isolation and our elderly live alone.

In short our vision is to see a whole community "United to Build life around Jesus" again! We believe a life built around Jesus brings fullness, completeness, indescribable joy and ultimately eternal life! And we sincerely want you to build with us.
