If adults are going to "build life around Jesus" at home, at work and at school we believe they will need to be involved in the fellowship of genuine Christian community. No man is an island and no body-part of Christ’s church can survive alone spiritually. For this reason we will put our time, treasure and talents toward the development of a strong, influential, Spirit-empowered FOCUS Group ministry that will reach adults in our community. Our FOCUS Groups serve as microcosms of the larger church family: they Love God, Love Each Other and Serve the World together!

Group Makeup

There are 2 types of FG's at BCC:

• Bible based FG's: Each Bible based FG is made up of a FG facilitator - the one who facilitates the group meeting, and FG members- everyone else who serves some capacity within the group!

  • Children's coordinator, Worship coordinator/leader, Hospitality/Host/Hostess, Social coordinator, Prayer/prayer chain coordinator, Outreach coordinator, etc.
• Activity based FG's: Activity based FG's could include anything from basketball, aerobics, softball, running or any other activity the leader has a vision to lead!

Each semester we will have a mixture of both Bible-based and Activity-based FG's depending on our group leaders.

Curriculum & Agenda

At BCC our FG Facilitators get to choose from a variety of curriculum options that connect what God says to what we go on to do.

A typical Bible-based FG lasts approximately 2 hours. FG's are very informal and simple. They consist of a group of 8-12 people gathering as a family to grow spiritually through Bible discussion, prayer and fellowship. Simple but powerful- Jesus changed the whole world from a small group of 12!
